April 27, 2010 – The Day. As soon as we opened the boxes, it was so mouth-watering that we wanted to grab a piece already. We all held back just to take pictures to share with everyone. After a brief photo shoot, everything was gone in just a few minutes. I personally loved the Overload Supreme!

April 21, 2010 – I got a message from Missy Bon Bon’s Owner Mr. Henrik Yu, thru Facebook, asking if the Cagayan de Oro Bloggers were available and interested for a breakfast meeting at Missy Bon Bon, Cagayan de Oro. Of course I didn’t hesitate to reply, answered all his questions and informed CDOBloggers officers regarding the invite. Everyone was just so excited to visit the place and try their goodies. So we posted at the CDOBloggers Site the said meeting and a lot of  bloggers responded. We set the meeting on a Saturday morning, so a lot of bloggers could attend.

April 24, 2010 – The Day. I arrived there just on time. Everyone at Missy Bon Bon Breadshop greeted us a very good morning including Mr. Yu. I then introduced Mr. Yu to fellow CDOBloggers who were already present there. We registered and had personalized, Missy Bon Bon themed, ID tags. We chit-chatted for awhile with Mr. Yu and we started ordering breakfast.

As soon as we had placed our orders, we continued talking with Mr. Yu, introduced him to the other bloggers who had just arrived. Including CDOBloggers President ChiQ Montes.

While waiting for our orders, we took photos of the very cozy, unique, and relaxing ambiance that Missy Bon Bon has. We also got to witness them putting in freshly baked bread on display.

After a few minutes, our orders started arriving. I had the Ham Breakfast and Monks’ Blend Premium Coffee. I have to say the tomato side dish is just heavenly! I wonder if we could just order additional side dish. hehehe. I might try and check it out next time. I just loved it. Below are some photos of what I had.

This Spanish Style Sardines mini business started early 2006. This used to be our family recipe only passed on from my grandfather. A lot of our friends and relatives would normally finish up all these when we serve them on family occasions. Later that year, we were having a hard time with cash and had to decide to come up with something to earn from. So we, my mom – Susan “Mamsuy” Lim, decided we go on and do the mini business because we saw it click when my older sister Pilar Marie Lim-Garcia of Pinoy Everyday, used this product for their feasibility study in Xavier University – which was also the first time the Spanish Style Bangus was introduced with logos and packaging. Unfortunately, their group didn’t pursue with it so we revived it. Mamsuy would do the cooking and my sister Jeri Mae Lim and I would do the delivering and advertising. Friends and relatives would buy from us which really helped us a lot. The business stopped around 2008, when our cooker died and couldn’t fund for a new one. It was just the other day that Mamsuy finally got the funding to buy a cooker, so we started it again.

Lyn’s Puto Delight was formally started November of 2008. It originally was Chad Chester Uy’s family recipe only. A lot of friends has been asking them to open up a puto (steamed rice cake) business since almost all of their friends loves and requests for them on almost any occasion or even just the ordinary days that they crave for it. Friends then grew shy to ask even more, so they asked them to cook for them and pay for it. When Chad got married to Rosalyn L. Uy, they decided to continue and open the planned biz.

Young Entrepreneurs Vincent “Inting” L. Uy and Francis Merrill “Kirk” E. Escalante thought of having their own business for their future. Since both of them have the common hobby of eating, they thought of something affordable and convenient for all ages and thus PiK-Cup was born.

They started with just delivering to Metrobank where Inting’s older sister is working. But as time flew, they both lacked the inspiration to continue and Kirk had to go back to school. ABS-CBN grounds was the venue of the event. It was supposedly a whole day event but not all was able to make it early cause of work and not all stayed till the Sadsad parteh cause they had work the next day. I was one of the late comers of this event cause I was printing out some letters for local media and companies the day before this till dawn of this day for CDOBloggers’ upcoming event the Mindanao Bloggers Summit 3 (MBS3) which will be held here in CDO.

March of 2009, I don’t know what exact date, but I was browsing to Ms. Rowena Wendy Lei of http://animetric.blogspot.com and I saw her post about Nestlé Chuckie’s Freebie and I had to register to get the freebie cause Zaza loves Chuckie, and it’s for free! The freebie was only for the first 200 to register to their site and I really thank Ms. Rowena for sharing this cause I made it to the first 200. hehe.

May 14, 2009, I received an email that my Chuckie Burstastic package was on the way.

May 22, 2009 we received Zaza’s Nestlé Chuckie Gift Pack and we were so excited to open it. We were the first 200 to try their new flavors then. hehe. I personally loved the choco burst. Both Zaza and I didn’t like much the peanut nor the cookie flavor. Double choco was the best! Specially when it’s cold!

I suggest you visit Animetric’s blog for more promos and freebies. thanks again sis. The Chuckie new flavors are now out in the market at, here in Cagayan de Oro it’s around 17-21pesos each, depending on where you’ll buy it. You guys should try them out.

5/18/09 – Zaza woke up earlier than me so I didn’t get to see the action. Mom showed Zaza his surprise – the Lechon head – Joy (miyahmayah) then took pictures of him with it. Eversince Zaza was born, he never had a lechon bought for him, even during his birthday, nor did we serve on special family occassions. There was once at my older sister pilarmarielim’s wedding with ewicgarcia but the lechon came chopped already. So this is the closest moment he had with a dead/cooked pig. When I woke up about 2hrs after, he bragged about seeing it but now Ama (my mom) has already cooked it. He was so excited to show me the pictures on my cam that he had to get it and said I should turn it on. hehehe.

Lechon here in Cagayan de Oro costs about 2,000 – 3,000 pesos.. That could already feed about 150 guests During peak season like Christmas or Graduation it usually climbs up to 3,500 depending on the size.

Crabs – specially Mud Crab is my ever favorite sea food.
This one was bought at Carmen Market for 120 pesos only last 4/27/09.
Zaza went with Mom at the market and when he came home he said “Surprise Nana, Love you”

Mud Crabs have much thicker shells than the blue or orange shelled crabs that we call here Lambay – that seems to have more delicate meat than the Alimango’s. Alimango’s can be prepared steamed with lots of seasoning, cooked with chili and tomatoes, stir-fried with garlic and oil, or steamed with soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and wine, etc. We use the latter way of cooking alimango. I just love crabs!

Eversince this ice cream’s tv ad came out it had been going on and on and on and on for days on literally everywhere. Everyone else on plurk would say “oh come on.. not again?” So we were so curious how it tasted and we bought one. Joy and Zaza dived in first, then Zaza and I. We had it with hot bread. And since we don’t have a fridge the rest was gone to waste – we couldn’t bear finishing all of it. It was okay – tasted just like ice cream, it just had 4 different flavors in it. hehehe.
