John Lloyd’s 5 years with Biogesic Celebration – Cagayan de Oro

John Lloyd Cruz celebrated his 5 years with Biogesic with the Kagay-anons at the Atrium of Limketkai Mall for his fans day event here in Cagayan de Oro!

December 3, 2011 was the day I got the chance to meet, for the first time, multi award-winning Filipino actor, hailed “Box-Office King” (2007-2008), a model, and occasional TV host, Mr. ‘Ingat’ himself, John Lloyd Cruz!

Prior to meeting his fans at the Atrium of Limketkai Mall, the actor had a lunch press conference with the members of the Cagayan de Oro media at Marco Hotel where I and 4 other CDOBloggers members were given the chance to meet and greet him.

I was given the chance to ask him a question and this was my question: “This coming 2012, what are the 5 things or people na gusto mong pag-Ingatan?“ His first answer was his Job, as for the next four…check out the video below:

Nikki Godino of the Biogesic team said they already had a series of fans day in several areas of the country, particularly Cebu, Davao, and Bacolod. She said that they made it a point to consider Cagayan de Oro as their last stop since John Lloyd and Biogesic have many loyal fans here.

John Lloyd encouraged everyone to use Biogesic as it is very safe and effective. He also said that Biogesic has been an essential part of his successful career life for five years now. He suggests to keep at least one or a few with you anywhere you go, because no one knows when a headache would strike. When one has no headache, one would be more effective at work.

John Lloyd had also listed five things for 2012:
1) looking forward to another year with Biogesic
2) wants to have a movie with Angel Locsin
3) wants to work in television thru a teleserye
4) looking for more time to travel
5) hopes to come back in Cagayan de Oro. (ain’t that sweet?)

An appeal to nurture their bright little minds

The Bloggers of Cagayan de Oro (CDOBloggers) are set to have an outreach and feeding program to a newly opened primary school in Besigan.

Besigan is 52 kilometers away from the city proper and most of the people in the area are farmers with no regular transportation except dump trucks from the city government to help the people transport their farm products. Before Cadayunan Primary School was approved last March 2011, children had to walk 12 kilometers everyday to and from the nearest school resulting to most of them skipping school and eventually stop.

Cadayunan Primary School is truly a blessing to the residents of Besigan as their children are given the opportunity to an accessible education. Currently the school has 60 primary pupils and 2 teachers. The school is in dire need of learning materials for the pupils as well as teaching materials for the teacher to effectively guide and teach these eager kids. Each of the members have already committed to help through cash or kind donations. We are looking into donating books and other materials that are beneficial to the learning process of the pupils. Surely all the contributions will go a long way. This would be a wonderful early Christmas gift for them.

CDObloggers‘ objective is to donate books and other supplementary learning materials and conduct a feeding activity there. CDOBloggers members has pledged a Php 300.00 contribution each which would be for the books and materials (Php250) and Php 50 for the feeding activity.

We would like to appeal to every kindhearted Kagay-anon, or anyone for that matter, for any support you can contribute. Please email us at cdobloggersinc@gmail.com if you wish to help or take part of this outreach. And to our fellow bloggers and netizens we also accept donations through paypal (francis.siason@gmail.com). Your $3 to $5 will surely go a long way. The last time we did a project like this (involving money donations through paypal or cash) was way back January 2009 when majority area of CDO was heavily flooded due to over spilling of water to major rivers in the city. We also made a post about the project (The $3 Campaign for the Flash Flood Victims).

You could also opt to donate in kind school materials like books, notebooks, writing and coloring materials, etc. As well as food and drinks for the feeding program. Deadline of contributions is on November 30, 2011.

I’ve read somewhere that children are great imitators. So let’s give them something great to imitate! God bless your kind hearts.

(CDOBloggers) will be conducting a workshop that will enhance the technical knowledge of bloggers, online marketers, and other interested participants. On its third year of hosting workshops and seminars like this, CDOBloggers Inc. continually aims to share its knowledge to the local blogging community. Solar Energy in Mindanao

Power supply shortage has been an issue for years now and I guess this is the only answer that every household should consider.

Why promote Solar Energy in Mindanao?

- Solar is the fastest technology that can be deployed to address capacity shortage.

- Solar is the cheaper alternative than fossil-based generation

- Solar is the best complement for Mindanao hydros

- Solar is the only technology that can realize upstream and downstream local jobs

CEPALCO urges the people to support the renewable energy in Mindanao thru Solar Power Plants. For more than a decade now, they have been very active in developing alternative and indigenous resources for power generation such as hydro resources, solar photovoltaic and biomass-fired generation facilities to meet its increasing demand requirements and to augment the increasingly non-dependable central generation facilities of its major power supplier.

Cepalco already commissioned the 1MWp Solar Pholtovoltaic Plant located in Indahag, Cagayan de Oro City and is the developing world’s largest Solar Power Plant and this is also the very first Solar Power Plant in the Philippines. They also commissioned the 7MW Bubunawan River hydro plant in the municipalities of Libona and Baungon, Bukidnon in 2001. Despite those existing renewable and indigenous resources still the servicing areas of Cepalco or the whole Mindanao is still short in power capacity and all the time Mindanao is in Red Alert when it comes to power generation.

There are recent studies by the Manila Observatory that Mindanao will be drier in the coming years. So as an alternative to renewable energy sources like the hydro power plant, Solar Power plant is the answer during the dry seasons. We already have the first in the Philippines Solar power plant located in Cagayan de Oro by Cepalco but a 1MWp power plant cannot sustain the whole city of CDO alone even though it is the largest in this developing country.

For that reason, Cepalco is pushing for putting up another 10 MWp solar power plant in Mindanao located specifically at the proposed 10-hectare solar park in Villanueva, Misamis Oriental. The project would be constructed over a period of at least five years and would use the best available solar technology in the market. It is expected to supply at least 14 million kWh of electricity annually to its distribution network.

That is why we need to install a Solar Energy Power Plant for Mindanao and as for the issue of another increase in your electric bill, Solar power is again the answer to reduce our electricity bills in the up coming years because of the Renewable Energy Law through the Feed-in Tariff Allowance or (FIT-All).

Let us all support Renewable Energy in Mindanao, support the Solar Energy in Mindanao.

CDOBloggers on ISYU Karon

The CDOBloggers were interviewed for GMA 7′s ISYU Karon show for their “Online” Episode. This episode will showcase the pros and cons of the internet. What is happening in the cyberworld and what could happen and also what you can do. CDOBloggers officers and some of the members came to support. We explained what the organization is for, the group’s aim and goals as a group and each of our individual purposes for having a blog and promoting Cagayan de Oro. The interview happened at 14th Restobar which is located at Tomasaco 14th extension, Cagayan de Oro City. It’s a new place in Nazareth that you can dine and unwind. Loreto’s Grill & Restaurant opened their themed KTV rooms

8/7/10 – Loreto’s Grill and Restaurant opened their themed KTV rooms that’s located at the ground floor of their establishment. Loreto’s Grill and Restaurant is situated at #35 Tomas Saco 6th Nazareth, Cagayan de Oro City. Click Here for the map

We were given the chance to experience one of their 6 newly opened KTV rooms which is the Hippie themed room for a couple of hours. Aside from munching on the delicious food that was served, we enjoyed singing and listening to ourselves from their newly setup sound system too.

I personally love the MJ room, hippie with a huge peace sign on the ceiling, and the hiphop room which has this huge graffiti on the wall. Cool concept. Metal room is cool too. I think everything is. Below are some pictures of the rooms.

You must be wondering why I love Gandaeversomuch.com. There are a couple of reasons.. Aside from I love mareng Orman, most of the blog posts are real and mostly applicable to our everyday lives.. other blog posts are so true na tinatamaan ka talaga at makakarelate ka. One post na favorite ko na is the recent blog post mareng Orman wrote last June 30 about being betrayed. Traydor na kaibigan to be super exact.

If you follow me on plurk, you would have noticed a couple of my plurks a few months back about someone who betrayed me, ruined my trust, and some friendships in the process. Actually marami sila sa lista ko and yes he/she must be in your timelines too. If you wanna know, I can make chika so you would hate them too – kidding. Ano sila celebrity? Pinaguusapan? haller.. I trust too quickly kasi. Anyways..if you read mareng Orman’s post, about it – here – item #1 I did already – I had to comment nga na item #1 palang tawa na ako agad. Nakarelate! Ang #2, hindi ko naman ginawa pero sinadya lng talaga ng tadhana dahil nanakaw ang phone ko. LMAO. So yeah, favorite ko ang blog post na ito dahil nakarelate ako at natawa dahil tama naman talaga – as always – si mareng Orman. Mga ahas pinapatay at ginigisa, LOL! Ang favorite ko sa lahat ng inenumerate ni mareng Orman ay ang item #6! Hahaha. Like I said sa isang plurk ko, ang mga tinatamaan, GUILTY! And naman… tama na naman ulit si mare dahil ginagawa nila ang #6! To all traitors: you are hopeless cases. Continue what you’re doing and soon when you die, you’ll be alone in your death beds. Pakshet!

April 26, 2010 – Received a call from Pizza De Oro owner Mr. Reynold Domingo that they have 4 new white pizza flavors. I and fellow CDOBlogger Goma were given the opportunity to taste test 3 of their new flavors. We set the date and time for the next day and invited over fellow CDOBlogger Robstroy and Magman to have it with us.

April 27, 2010 – The Day. As soon as we opened the boxes, it was so mouth-watering that we wanted to grab a piece already. We all held back just to take pictures to share with everyone. After a brief photo shoot, everything was gone in just a few minutes. I personally loved the Overload Supreme!

My Missy Bon Bon Experience

April 21, 2010 – I got a message from Missy Bon Bon‘s Owner Mr. Henrik Yu, thru Facebook, asking if the Cagayan de Oro Bloggers were available and interested for a breakfast meeting at Missy Bon Bon, Cagayan de Oro. Of course I didn’t hesitate to reply, answered all his questions and informed CDOBloggers officers regarding the invite. Everyone was just so excited to visit the place and try their goodies. So we posted at the CDOBloggers Site the said meeting and a lot of bloggers responded. We set the meeting on a Saturday morning, so a lot of bloggers could attend.

April 24, 2010 – The Day. I arrived there just on time. Everyone at Missy Bon Bon Breadshop greeted us a very good morning including Mr. Yu. I then introduced Mr. Yu to fellow CDOBloggers who were already present there. We registered and had personalized, Missy Bon Bon themed, ID tags. We chit-chatted for awhile with Mr. Yu and we started ordering breakfast.

As soon as we had placed our orders, we continued talking with Mr. Yu, introduced him to the other bloggers who had just arrived. Including CDOBloggers President ChiQ Montes.

While waiting for our orders, we took photos of the very cozy, unique, and relaxing ambiance that Missy Bon Bon has. We also got to witness them putting in freshly baked bread on display.

After a few minutes, our orders started arriving. I had the Ham Breakfast and Monks’ Blend Premium Coffee. I have to say the tomato side dish is just heavenly! I wonder if we could just order additional side dish. hehehe. I might try and check it out next time. I just loved it. Below are some photos of what I had.
