It was around year 2009 that I started using plurk again. I got registered around 2008 but didn’t really use it much. 2009 was the year I joined CDOBloggers.com and I also found new friends from CDO, Gensan, and Davao thru Plurk. In my timeline I came across ter Orman’s blog GandaEverSoMuch. First time I saw it I was like, wow, cool theme, the hands follow thru while scrolling down. Hehehe.

It was just after the MBS3 that I really got to follow and read thru the blog posts written in it as I really find them interesting and fun to read. The way of writing are mostly in a very natural and taray way which I really love. It’s not some of those too detailed and too boring way of writing articles, again I would have to say, it’s fun to read! I think the first blog post I read was about Kuya Avel’s journey to the top in blogging. I think It had a song pa. Or maybe it was Orman’s blog post about his moment with yummy Atty. Adel at MBS3?  Either way, I read thru both of those articles some time ago.

I keep coming back to GandaEverSoMuch.com because I see things ang real. Mostly Orman’s personal happenings, may it be sad or happy. Some blogs relate to General Santos where Orman lives. I also get to know Orman’s life even sa malayo. There are things I can relate to, sometimes realizations, I remember I read thru one of Orman’s post about loving the job, and how to and not impress the boss. Overworking and stressing yourself isn’t really the answer. If you guys are interested to know more, may steps sya dun. I think it was a blog late December 2009 or January 2010.

While I was browsing through my plurk timeline, I came across a friend’s blog link which featured a silver jewelry giveaway – Alexa’s Angels Hugs and Kisses Necklace and I am totally awed by it and their aim for their jewelries.

Last 8/2/2009 a package arrived at home. I had to wonder then who sent the package when I haven’t even bought anything online yet, and I only use 2Go to ship to my buyers from my online shop. So I opened it and received a note with the stuffs inside. It was 2 free traveling kits/bag from 2GO for being one of the first 50 who registered in their new website feature. Thank you 2GO.

First 2 Summits were held at Davao and General Santos City. This time, it’s going to be in our very own City of Golden Friendship – Cagayan de Oro. With the theme “Mindanao Bag-ohon sa Panan-aw” or “Changing the way people see Mindanao”, this big event aims to give better understanding about Mindanao tourism, the people, our culture and ofcourse, promoting Cagayan de Oro and what the must-see’s and must-try’s are here (e.g. White Water Rafting, Caving, Trekking at the Man-Made Forest, etc.).

This event will surely give us all a chance to meet fellow bloggers from across the Philippines, expand our online networks, and of course build friendships!

The first stop of the day was at PJoe’s Diner at Rosario Arcade, Limketkai Mall where the MOA signing between Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, RV Team, and COMELEC took place at 10:30 AM. I didn’t get to witness this event cause I was still dead asleep on my bed, but 3 of our fellow CDOBloggers officers were able to make it there – pinks0da, Dingexx, and Magman who were so star stricken to see and sit with Senator Kiko Pangilinan himself who was way taller and much more handsome than showed on TV. They were so stunned that they didn’t even notice nor were they enticed of the food served right in front of them.

Next stop was at Pryce Plaza Hotel for a meeting/press conference/forum with Sen. Kiko and the Department of Agrarian Reform-X (DAR). It was also participated by different non-government organizations (NGOs) from Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental and other provinces of Region 10. This is where I and some more of the CDOBloggers came in – Mike Abonitalla, Venus, Bang, BBJane, May Ann, and Magnus. This is also where we got our official Media pass. We then had a very quick lunch – most of us didn’t get to finish our lunch because our food came in late and we were so excited when Ms. Irene said it was time for our picture taking with the Senator. We then rushed out the hallway before the Senator came out and prepped ourselves there. As Sen. Kiko was approaching us, Ms. Irene and Ms. Julie then pointed at us and introduced us as the bloggers of Cagayan de Oro and we smiled with pride while Sen. Kiko himself shook hands with my fellow bloggers. We then had a group photo, taken by Bon Aserios, with the Senator.

Before leaving Pryce Plaza, we were given the chance to take photos of the RV Bus and also got the chance to ride on the bus as the team headed to MUST (Mindanao University of Science and Technology) for an afternoon forum with the students. We were welcomed by the MUST tribal dancers as the bus was entering the vicinity. As the Senator was about the speak, the heavy rain came pouring down, but it never stopped the students to listen and show interest on Sen. Kiko’s advocacy speech, encouraging the students to be part of the 9 million expected first time voters this coming 2010. I, for one, will be part of it. Yep, it’ll be my first time then – don’t ask why. LOL.

We, Magman and I, were then toured by Pinks0da and Dingexx around their alma mater. After the quick tour, the RV Team headed for COC (Cagayan de Oro College) for another talk. We didn’t go with them this time cause we wanted to rest and gather up strength for the concert. We took a quick snack at KFC Limketkai and headed to Pinks0da’s place for a quick rest.

6:00 PM came; we rush down to Xavier University Gym, since it was time for the Rock the Vote Concert featuring HALE, SPONGECOLA, LUKE MEJARES and other surprise guests. As the Cagayan de Oro local bands played, Ms. Irene asked us to go in front and squat at the front row portion of the floor so others would follow. As we were sitting there, we could feel everyone staring at us wondering what we were doing. The emcee’s then announced the dance floor was for everyone, people from the balcony went rushing down to sit with us and we all enjoyed the CDO local rock bands: Upstart, Tabularaza, Twin Chicken, and K9 among others. Tj Ortiz and Sandy David also shook the crowd with their acoustic music where the audiences sang their hearts out – each of the artists also was inviting and encouraging everyone in the gym to register and vote on the upcoming election, to make a difference, to not just complain about the current leaders – but to find a way to change by registering and voting for a better leader.

Fr. Jet led the prayer for former President Cory Aquino’s health before the Unity Statement took place. We were given glow sticks before they arrived and we weren’t informed we were going to use it for that portion, so instead of using the glow sticks, we used our cellphones to light up the gym as sign of Unity of the Filipino people in the call for REAL CHANGE. That we deserve better. Our families deserves better.

After each of the RV Movers came up to talk and encouraged everyone to register and vote. The rocking of the gym continued – this time Luke Mejares, Spongecola, and Hale did the job. We would like to thank Ms. Irene Aserios for giving CDOBloggers the opportunity to join this event with special privileges, if it weren’t for you, we wouldn’t have seen/touched/photographed these very special icons of the country up-close and personal. Thru this event, I will get registered – together with my fellow unregistered cdobloggers, who lost hope in our election system and the government – this is for our future and our families’ future. The “pulis” who didn’t allow us to come back up on stage, even if we were there the whole time way before they stood their post there. To think Hale was the last band to play that night. We were a bit annoyed and pissed for this, we were able to cover almost all the event’s happenings except Hale’s because of them. Anyway, we got some pics from afar and we decided to leave cause of dismay but we did enjoy the event.

30 days after I filed a complaint with Ebay, they contacted me for investigation and I filed for their eBay Standard Purchase Protection Programme – after their investigation and proven that the transaction is really a scam a buyer that has been scammed may be reimbursed for eligible transactions only like:

- An item was not received.
- An item was received but significantly not as described.

Buyer will be reimbursed up to a maximum of P 11,200.00 (less P 1,400.00 to cover processing costs).

For example:
If the item price is PHP 12,000, you’re eligible to receive PHP 9,800.
If the item price is PHP 5000, you’re eligible to receive PHP 3,600.
If the item price is PHP 1500.00, you’re eligible to receive PHP 100.

The maximum reimbursement for any claim is P 9,800.

There are certain qualifications also for claims they can be found HERE.

Good thing I kept all the proof of the transaction up until now that helped me thru their investigation. They called me today around 5pm – about 2months after the incident. I know it’s a long time and not the full amount will be paid, but atleast I get to be reimbursed for it, compared to not getting anything at all. Their reimbursement will arrive in 45days.

Thank God for this. And I still pray there’s a way to get these scammers.

January 29, 2009 – My cellphone went crazy, even plurked about it here.

January 30, 2009 – My phone was officially declared dead. Started looking around for a new phone. Browsed thru ebay and bidded on alot of phones to choose from, from sellers WITH feedbacks. Left for the mall afterwards to have my phone checked.

January 31, 2009 – I went to the mall to canvas cost for phone repair and left my phone there for check-up.

February 1, 2009 – I called repair shop and they informed me phone repair would cost 2,500 so I said I’d just get back my phone coz it was t0o expensive for just repair. When I got back home, I received email from ebay that I won one item.

I texted the seller after I read the emails. When I texted her and asked where and when in cebu she’s going to be available for meet-ups so I could have her and my bestfriend’s bf meet, she said she currently left for baguio for a business trip and would return by march. So I asked for her mode of payment, she said Gcash is convenient for her now because she’s busy. I still hesitated and even plurked about it.

So I asked for her Gcash details to get her personal info (which is only what’s written above). I asked for the total amount with insurance and she said 8810. I withdrew from my savings account and cashed-in at Globe Limketkai. I texted her and said I’d send payment after she sends me actual photo of the unit and box and a photo of the unit turned on and she agreed and sent me photos:

February 3, 2009 – After I received the photos, I sent the amount 8810 thru Gcash (I still have our conversation thru text, the cash-in details from Gcash and the transaction info for the amount I sent to her). She texted back she got the payment and will ship after lunch. And I logged in to ebay and marked the item “payment sent”:

An hour later she texted back with tracking number from Air21 – 300 001 734 819, she also said the latest day for it to arrive is Thursday Feb. 5. I tried to track it online but online tracking said the number was invalid so I tried a couple of hours later, which again returned invalid. So I sent her another message confirming the number, she said it was correct and maybe the system was faulty – which I know usually happens most of the time.

February 4, 2009 – I was at work and started feeling weird. Scared and uneasy. I had my sister call Air21 cdo (but unfortunately, they weren’t helpful, they shouldn’t have answered the phone) so I had her call long distance to Air21 Baguio about it, and they asked for our numbers, also the seller’s. They called back the same day that the seller’s number was off and shipment from Baguio to CDO would take about 2-3days and that they’d check their receipt files for the said receipt. I was even more worried. So after work, I started to clear my mind and went to the mall. User from ebay, hwggrivas, texted me a couple of times and even called me up and said he was worried for my situation, he also said he paid for Gcash with his transaction with that seller but the seller’s name (on his record, he says) was Christine Ong from Iloilo City. I almost cried when he told me this, he adviced me to call using another number and try to get more info from her, I said thanks and headed home. When I got home and checked on her profile again, I saw she relisted the phone again together with a LV Black Mahina XS Purse (item photo you’ll see on first photo in this blog). I was even more worried, so I texted her again if she had more e71 cause she relisted it, she replied hours later that she instructed her cousin to relist only the LV bag and was sorry the e71 got relisted, she said she’ll unlist the next day when she gets home. I texted her back to give me a copy of air21 receipt and she said she’ll email me a copy when she gets home and unlist the item.

February 5, 2009 – The latest ETA of the said unit, guess what? no unit arrived. I wanted to break down but I was still holding on to sis clarashoppe’s words that baguio shipment might take about 2-3days to arrive here. I tried to call the seller but her phone just kept ringing but no answer. I tried to text and call user hwggrivas, hoping to get more info from him but he didn’t reply nor answer my call too. Same day, I found out her feedback corner is now set to private. So I thought, maybe some of the members I messaged is part of her scam, or she’s expecting a negative feedback. I also found out, she ended the relisted item early and gave the latest bidder the current price she bidded. So this means another person is being scammed too. Here’s the cache result from google:

I tried to call her this morning but I couldn’t get thru. So did all my other friends who tried to call her, she barred her incoming calls.

I already sent a complaint thru ebay, sent her a message there, and still waiting for their feedback. I will also email Globe and try to ask help from yahoo for traces of her info.

This is rather a very expensive lesson. Hope alot of you will learn to be more vigilant than me. I wasn’t ready to spend 2,500 for a phone that’s dead – where all my contacts, apointments and such, but I chose to spend that much on a very slightly used, t0o g0od to be true, E71 coz I wanted to be able to access the internet anywhere and have my important documents and such with me.

I have had a few transactions on ebay with even more than that price, and to sellers with lesser feedbacks, but this is just different. Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda.. indeed are the last words of a fool. I just hope she needed the money so bad, and hope her issues – or whatever reason she has to have done this, are solved. I hope she doesn’t scam anybody else. I hope in time she’ll change her mind and stop doing this stuff coz it won’t do her any good.

I will update this blog for more info. I just feel so bad now, I feel like my heart is about to explode.

It will traverse the Indian Ocean and western Indonesia before petering out just short of Mindanao, the Philippines.

Eversince the start of the flood, I have been a frequent listener of DXCC for live updates on different locations. I also knew they accepted donations so I gave away some of our old clothes and donated a sack of rice there. When I got there, their employees were segregating the donated clothes and it was already on a very large pile. Canned goods and other food items were also on another corner, their lobby was almost full, some of the donations were even left outside so there would be space inside.

I also heard from Campus Radio’s DJ Papa Ardie(who’s also the Student Affairs and Services Coordinator at COC) that COC is housing about 300 evacuees in their old building. I went there and gave them 2 sacks of rice, one from me and one from Stephen Lim, the supplier of rice.
